From the diary of a working mom: why I chose stacy as my primary pump?

Hi, I am Aastha Punwatkar, a working mom in Bangalore. I am a software developer on weekdays and a dancer on weekends.

My baby is 11 months now and I have been an exclusive pumping mom.

I didn’t choose to be an EPF mom (exclusive pumping & feeding). The thing is, my daughter could not latch well and I had sore nipples. It led to massive redness and direct breastfeeding was terrible.

I was afraid that my baby would not get any breast milk and I did not want to give her formula milk.

On the advice of my lactation consultant, I tried pumping.

Over the course of 11 months, I have tried many different pumps - either bought them on my own or got a pre-loved one from moms around me. Stacy pump has been an absolute game-changer for me. I just love it - the fit, the battery and the ease of cleanliness - have made my pumping journey super-smooth.

Here is a comparison chart of all the pumps I have used till now:

In short, stacy stands out in comparison to Promom and Spectra in terms of features like comfort on breast tissue (silicone vs plastic), wide coverage of breast sizes (15 mm flange also included), lightness and depth increased of the bra/breast on wearing and having portability (carry-case).

In comparison to Momcozy, again stacy has an advantage of comfort (silicone vs plastic), wide breast coverage and auto-milk shut off.

stacy is a pump focused on engineering innovation - hence it combines the goodness of providing a wide flange angle (105 vs 90 ) and long flange tunnel (basically this completely mimics the mechanism of a baby suckling on the breast).

Price-wise, I think stacy is the best (given it has an option to buy 1 pump right now at 8999) for the features it has. Momcozy M5 - I can't see the single pump option right now in India. If it is, it should be greater than 10,000.

No pump right now in India market has the option of logging milk details in any form of app. Only stacy offers it. This can help you tremendously in assessing the daily milk consumption of the baby (whether EBF or combo of Formula feeding + Breast feeding).

My recommendation for all working moms: stacy. Go for it.
